The Scrub Technician participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient. She/He will demonstrate an ability to work with the medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care. The Scrub Tech demonstrates a professional, courteous manner, and handles confidential information with discretion for the patient and their family.
Minimum: Completion of Surgical Tech Program or Evidence of NYS Dept of Health Exemption (1 year cumulative experience between January 1, 2011-January 1, 2015) or Active NYS LPN license.
Preferred: Completion of Surgical Tech Program
Minimum Certifications: BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
Certification as Surgical Technologist (required for Surgical Tech Program Graduates without the Evidence of Exemption) or Current NYS Licensed Pratical Nurse. CPI
Minimum: One year of experience in the healthcare field, or completion of scrub tech training program with a evidence of application for Surgical Tech Certification.
Preferred: Scrub tech experience.
