What you’ll do: Serves as designated person to assist with coordinating medical clearances for surgical procedures and all that it encompasses – utilizing skills of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality in a professional manner.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Review upcoming surgical schedule and list what patients need medical clearances.
- Follow up to confirm that medical clearances are coordinated in a timely manner:
- Call provider offices to make sure the appropriate clearance appointments have been made.
- Follow up to make sure clearance notes and test results are uploaded into the patient charts.
- Send abnormal test results to the appropriate provider.
- Schedules post op appointments for assigned providers. Follow up with patients who have not scheduled their appointments.
- Provide additional support for other schedulers as assigned, when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsWho you are:
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One-year medical office experience. Previous surgical scheduling experience preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures and other regulatory policies
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment
- Medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette
- Electronic medical systems is a plus
