Surgery Vet Nurse | ARH Essendon | Full-time position

We are seeking an experienced Full-time Surgery Nurse to join our dynamic team at ARH Essendon. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standard of care for our surgical patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Monitor patients during surgery and recovery
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Administer medications and follow established protocols
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families

Requirements:

  • Cert IV qualified Nurse
  • Proven experience in veterinary surgical nursing, with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols
  • Proficiency in anaesthesia monitoring and sterile technique
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
  • Excellent patient care skills, including pre- and post-operative management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical equipment and surgical instruments, including their maintenance and sterilisation
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
