As a Surgery Scheduler,you’llplay a vital roleinthe care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day
As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:
Coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures between physicians and their offices, available OR specialty time, anesthesia, and other departments as necessary (i.e., X-ray, MRI, CT, etc.). Coordinates and communicates changes to existingschedulewith appropriate departments/staff and make adjustments to ensure maximum utilization of rooms and equipment.
Schedulenextday and beyond surgical procedures. Maintains and updates surgery assignments. Prints and distributes future OR schedules to allappropriate areas Notifies providers with schedule changes and additions.
Obtains necessary lab work, x-rays, H&P (History & Physical) as applicable.
Process patient charges and calculate based on procedure type, length of procedure, and supplies used. Review revenue to ensure charges are entered for every patient. Runs reports and verifies correct entry of codes andupdatescharges if errors are made.
Answer, screen, triage, prioritize, anddetermineurgency of incoming calls. Act as a resource to providers, staff,patientsand families.
Operate and troubleshoot office equipment,arrange for maintenancerepairsas necessary. Maymaintaininventory of office supplies, and complete andsubmitsupply orders to replenish stock.
