Our surgery team of 5 boarded ECVS specialists are recruiting for a discipline specific intern in surgery for a 1-year fixed-term position. Potential candidates should have completed a 1-year rotating internship. The post would be ideal preparation for a surgical residency. Our program is highly successful with all our previous DSI's achieving a residency position upon completion. Candidates are expected to have good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English. Responsibilities would include taking part in case management, surgical procedures, re-examination clinics, imaging rounds, seminars and journal clubs. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research and the expectation would be to present and submit a paper by the end of the internship. Candidates would be expected to take part in a weekend rota, but will be fully supervised by a senior surgery clinician at all times. You will also be supported by a team of highly trained discipline-specific nurses within wards and theatre.
The deadline for application is the 17th of April 2026. Applications should include a letter of intent and an updated curriculum vitae, by the link below.
Candidates wishing to discuss the post informally can contact Andy Craig ( andy.craig@ndsr.co.uk).
Further information about the hospital can be found at http://www.ndsr.co.uk
You will be asked to prove your right to work in the U.K. at the time of the application.
