Surface Supervisor Location: Greater Lyons We are seeking a Surface Supervisor to join our operations team. In this role, you will lead a workforce responsible for producing and shipping bulk and packaged salt products. Your main focus will be ensuring safe and efficient operations while fostering a positive team environment. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise mill operators, package operators, laborers, and contractors.
Maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Oversee production scheduling and ensure quality standards are met.
Manage employee performance through training and accountability.
Coordinate with other departments to support smooth operations.
Assist with project planning and execution, including equipment installation and process improvements.
Ensure proper maintenance and housekeeping standards are upheld.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
3+ years of leadership experience in heavy industry or manufacturing.
Familiarity with mobile equipment and milling processes.
Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to lift 50-100 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as
needed.Shift Clarity: Flexibility is important in this role. After an initial training period, candidates can expect to settle into a consistent back shift schedule (primarily 2nd or 3rd shift or a split) approximately 80–90% of the time However, there may be occasional needs ( 10–20%) to adjust schedules based on operational demands.
