FAIR-RITE PRODUCTS CORP. - LOCATED IN WALLKILL, NEW YORK

We are expanding our grinding team!

We are looking to add a member to our team of Surface Grinding Operators on day shift.

Days and Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform entry level of skill for set-up, monitor, operate and adjust grinding machines, such as the Gallmayer grinder, Blanchard grinder, Abplanalp grinder or Lapping machines
  • Basic level of knowledge of choosing proper grinding machine as specified by WOP.
  • Follow proper procedures for machine set-up and adjustment.
  • Wash ferrite cores and place in oven.
  • Must learn or be able to check size of parts periodically using appropriate tools as stated in the work instructions
  • Must learn or be able to read micrometer, caliper, dial indicator tools and plot measurements, checking for consistency.
  • Must learn or be able to interpret readings
  • Must learn or be able to inspect parts under microscope to assure a quality product.
  • Complete basic paperwork specified in Work Order Packet including measurements from pre-control forms
  • Other non-essential duties may be assigned as necessary
  • Follow all relevant Quality and / or Environmental standards to which Fair Rite is certified
  • Follow all O.S.H.A. standards and the Fair-Rite Safety and Health Policy.

Qualifications

Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1 – 3 months on the job training and or experience

Preferred Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Vocational / Technical Education or Technical Training Certificate
  • 3 months on the job training and or experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to operate all grinding machines and instruments
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work under minimal or no supervision
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to operate CMS / ERP system effectively
  • PC / Computer skills are recommended
  • Ability to use the tool data collection / SPC
  • Good spatial perception
