Location: This position is onsite at the Ludington Pump Storage located in Ludington, MI The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a power generation facility by coordinating and supervising the daily activities of operations, production, and support personnel. This position establishes team priorities to ensure successful task completion and coordinates work activities with other supervisors and departments. Decision-making and problem-solving are guided by company policies, established procedures, safety standards, and business objectives.

This posting is for two supervisory positions that will share responsibilities and provide cross-functional support and backup for one another. One supervisor will primarily focus on the day-to-day management of plant operations, while the other will focus on the development, scheduling, delivery, and documentation of training programs for plant operators and other site employees. Responsibilities may be adjusted or reassigned as needed to support business requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in operating reviews, performance assessments, and problem-solving initiatives.
• Recommend and implement improvements to plant systems, operations, and maintenance processes. Prepare and maintain reports on completed work orders and the status of ongoing work. Utilize enterprise software systems to support operational activities.
• Understand departmental and organizational metrics and goals, maintain visual management tools, and apply Lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Identify waste elimination opportunities, document improvement initiatives, and ensure follow-through to completion to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies. Advise and consult with Operations Leadership regarding budget requirements.
• Complete administrative responsibilities, including timesheet approvals, Equivalent Straight Time (EST) accounting, Read and Sign program compliance, and adherence to procedure and policy updates. Request and schedule on-call resources and participate in the on-call rotation. Oversee the acquisition, inspection, testing, replacement, and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Respond to employee concerns and requests for information, and provide guidance in resolving equipment and system performance issues. Instruct employees in the performance of complex, infrequently performed, or potentially hazardous work. Collaborate with employees and support groups, inspect work activities, and directly lead operational evolutions to ensure safe, efficient, and satisfactory completion of assigned tasks.
• Supervise bargaining unit employees in the operation of power generation equipment and the maintenance of equipment integrity. Provide oversight of contractor activities and ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements. Plan, organize, train, and direct operations personnel to achieve first-time quality and efficient work performance. Lead and participate in special projects as assigned. Administer the Union Contract, company policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and employee development.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities with support groups to prioritize work management activities, execute operational evolutions, and secure necessary resources. Serve as the first level of troubleshooting for equipment malfunctions. Investigate equipment and system deficiencies and partner with Maintenance and other support groups to develop and implement corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as required to support business needs.

Additional Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs, including plant operator certification training.
• Coordinate, prepare, approve, and oversee Workman's Protection activities, ensuring employees are properly trained and compliant in the preparation, approval, and execution of Workman's Protection procedures.
• Lead and participate in audits to ensure compliance with the Working Clearance Procedure and Operator Certification Procedure.

• Thorough understanding of scheduling processes and resource planning.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, skilled trade, or related discipline, and at least two (2) years of experience demonstrating technical knowledge in power plant operations or similar industrial operations
• [OR] Associate’s degree in a technical field, skilled trade, or related discipline, and at least four (4) years of relevant technical experience
• [OR] High School Diploma with at least six (6) years of experience demonstrating technical knowledge in power plant operations or similar industrial operations
