Job Description

Hours of Work: 6 hours per week (Flex) (12 hrs. biweekly) (Vehicle Required)

The job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Providing quality service to clients to ensure client’s needs are met in all regards including a safe comfortable, clean living environment.
  • Ensuring that meal planning, preparing, and grocery purchasing is completed as required.
  • Developing, in concert with the team and Coordinator all positive and restrictive client programs as required, and implementation of same.
  • Communicating with immediate supervisor to inform and consult regarding any serious problem/concern encountered in providing services to the children and youth.
  • Teaching basic life and community skills to the children and youth, and supporting client’s with their social, recreational, and leisure activities.
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed as required and master files kept up to date.
  • Understanding the roles, responsibilities and expectations of the Emergency On-call System.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the support in absence of Residential Coordinator..

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid First Aid-CPR Level C Certificate is a mandate.
  • Valid police information check with vulnerable sector is mandate.
  • Previous experience in disability services is required.
  • Willingness to follow established policies, procedures, and support plans.
