We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Support Worker to join our team in Balwyn, Victoria, supporting an Aruma participant to live independently, stay connected to their community and continue achieving the goals that matter most to them.

About the Role

You'll be supporting a participant who uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with daily living activities, personal care and community participation.

We're looking for someone who can combine strong practical skills with genuine empathy and a person-centred approach. Experience with manual handling and hoist transfers is essential.

One of the great things about this opportunity is the consistency it offers. The service has no complex behaviours of concern, allowing you to focus on building rapport, delivering quality support and helping the participant maintain their independence and quality of life.

Shifts Available

  • Day shifts only
  • 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Ongoing regular shifts
  • Balwyn, VIC

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver person-centred support tailored to the participant's goals, preferences and aspirations.
  • Provide personal care and daily living support with dignity, respect and professionalism.
  • Support community access, social connection and independence.
  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with the participant and their support network.
  • Complete accurate documentation and progress notes.
  • Live Aruma's BRAVE values through every interaction.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Disability support experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting people who use wheelchairs.
  • Confidence and practical experience using a hoist.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A person-centred approach and genuine passion for supporting people with disability.
  • Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to delivering quality supports.

Desirable

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or similar qualification.
  • Experience working within NDIS-funded services.

Compliance Requirements

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and valid working rights.
