Pilbara Community Legal Service (PCLS) is seeking
an enthusiastic and community-minded Support Worker to join our Settlement
Engagement & Transition Services (SETS) team in Karratha on a fixed term
part-time basis.

This flexible part-time role is ideal for someone who
enjoys working with people, building community connections, and delivering
meaningful programs.

School hours and flexible working arrangements can
be negotiated. Working Holiday Visa holders with Australian working rights are
encouraged to apply.

About Us

Pilbara Community Legal Service (PCLS) provides a
range of services across Karratha, Roebourne, South Hedland and Newman,
supporting individuals, families and communities throughout the Pilbara.

About the Role

The SETS program supports migrants and
humanitarian entrants to successfully settle into life in Australia by
providing information, advocacy, referrals, case management and opportunities
to build confidence and community connections.

Working 20 hours per week, you'll enjoy flexibility with your schedule, including school hours where suitable. There is also flexibility to negotiate hours if you have other employment commitments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing low to medium intensity case management and client support
  • Delivering conversational English classes
  • Planning and facilitating community activities, workshops and group programs
  • Building strong relationships with local organisations and community stakeholders
  • Promoting community participation, wellbeing and social inclusion
  • Attending community events and representing the SETS program
  • Maintaining accurate client records and program documentation
  • Supporting community capacity building initiatives

This is a varied role where you'll spend plenty of time out in the community rather than behind a desk.

This position will be contracted on a fixed part-time basis working 20 hours per week until 12/02/2027.

Essential Criteria

To be successful, you will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops or community activities
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • An understanding of privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity when working with diverse communities
  • A Certificate IV in Community Services (minimum) or significant relevant experience (Diploma or higher highly regarded)
