Job Description

Community Support Worker – Queenstown / Tāhuna

Working in partnership to enable great lives – Mā te mahi tahi kia pai ai te oranga

At Community Care Trust Aotearoa, we believe in a world that truly values and celebrates diversity – Ko tō mātou tūruapō ka whakanuia te ao whānui i ngā kanorau. Across Te Waipounamu, we walk alongside adults and rangatahi who need some support in their lives, helping them to achieve their goals, build confidence, and live the lives they choose as valued members of their communities.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and being part of their everyday lives. If you like getting out and about, building relationships, and supporting others in a way that feels natural and meaningful, this could be a really great fit.

This is a part-time role based in Queenstown / Tāhuna, with hours to be worked out together. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays tend to be our busiest days, and daytime hours usually work best. As our service continues to grow in the area, there is potential for hours to increase over time.

In this role, you’ll be supporting a small group of people in the Queenstown / Tāhuna community to get involved in the things that matter to them. That might look like helping someone stay on top of weekly routines, working towards personal goals, getting involved in local activities, or spending time on hobbies and interests. It’s a varied and active role, and there are plenty of opportunities for fun along the way—visits to the local cat rescue are a particular favourite, so being comfortable around cats is important!

We’re really excited about strengthening our presence in Queenstown / Tāhuna. Having someone locally based means more consistent support for the people we work alongside and opens up opportunities to grow community participation programmes in the area.

You’ll bring a positive, reliable and respectful approach, and enjoy working alongside others to support their independence and connection. A full, current NZ driver licence is essential, as you’ll be out and about in the community. Many of the people we support are younger, so being able to relate and engage with rangatahi and young adults would be ideal.

Our organisation has a strong commitment to safeguarding tamariki and rangatahi, and all employees will be safety checked and vetted in line with this commitment.

In return, you’ll be part of a supportive and values-driven team, with opportunities to learn and grow, and the chance to be involved in work that truly makes a difference.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and a cover letter.

Applications close on Thursday 26th May 2026 at 5pm.
