As demand for our services in the Port Augusta region grows, we’re on the lookout for compassionate, dedicated, and driven people to join our team. We currently have multiple Part Time opportunities.

About the role

  • Foster independence and empower our clients to achieve their goals through encouragement and guidance
  • Facilitate community participation and social inclusion
  • Provide positive support to our clients with their daily activities, such as meal preparation, hygiene routines and medication management, promoting a sense of stability and routine via in-home and day activity care.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any challenges or issues that may arise, ensuring a positive, safe and nurturing environment for everyone.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress and activities, while adhering to Cara's policies and procedures.

About you

  • A passion for supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives.
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Have valid work visa and rights to work in Australia.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate, valid full Driver’s Licence and a NDIS Worker clearance.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent experience (not essential but desirable).

About The Royal Children's Hospital

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
