Job Description

About Us

Allcare is one of the leading in-home aged care service providers in the Illawarra. We are passionate about providing cost effective, innovative, flexible and high-quality services to our clients, allowing them to live independently in their own home and surroundings. We promote social engagement and health and wellbeing, focussing on all aspects of an individual to help them live their best lives.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for Community Support Workers to join our team in the Shoalhaven region. Our aim is to support our in-home aged care clients to remain independent for as long as possible, providing assistance that genuinely enhances their daily lives.

We have casual positions available, with shifts running between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Sunday, across various locations. Wherever possible, we match workers with clients in their local area to promote consistency and quality of care.

We understand people have commitments outside of work and we do our best to work with you to accommodate them. In return, we ask for honesty regarding your true availability so we can roster effectively - providing you with a steady schedule while ensuring reliable support for our clients.

The role involves:

Providing quality support and client directed care to people over the age of 65, to support them in strengthening their capacity to continue living in their own home.

A typical day in this role involves:

  • personal care services include grooming, hygiene, general self-care, and assistance with dressing, tailored to the client's abilities;
  • medication support and assistance such as medication reminders, administering medication or insulin and blood pressure checks (with relevant training);
  • community support services such as assistance with daily community interactions and appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, attending outdoor activities and meeting up with social groups;
  • transportation services such as taking clients to medical or personal appointments, collection or drop off at services or shopping;
  • domestic assistance such as meal preparation, cooking of meals, general tidying and assistance around the house such as laundry and making beds.

Unlike other providers, allcare team members are not required to do large blocks of cleaning. We offer separate professional cleaning services to our clients.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a great attitude with a genuine interest in helping others;
  • an understanding of the care needs of elderly people and a commitment to providing quality care;
  • the ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment;
  • previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential);
  • a valid drivers licence;
  • access to a clean, reliable and fully insured vehicle;
  • a mobile phone with internet access;
  • a minimum of two but preferably three COVID-19 vaccination doses; and
  • a willingness to obtain the annual Influenza vaccination.

Our team members enjoy:

  • working in a supportive environment in a position that offers variety and flexible working hours;
  • making a difference to someone’s life, with the opportunity to support older people in our communities;
  • Employee Referral (Refer a Friend) Scheme;
  • paid travel time between clients with reimbursement of travel kilometres.

allcare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion. We strive to create an equal employment environment where everyone from any background can be themselves.

Candidates will need to be willing to undertake a National Police History check and have a valid Right to Work status in Australia.

Our Talent Acquisition team & Hiring Managers kindly request no unsolicited resumes from recruitment agencies. allcare isn’t responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.
