We are hiring! Join the team at MADEC as a Disability Support Worker.

$43.23 per hour - $103.76 per hour.

We’re looking for Disability Support Workers to join MADEC, a leading community organisation providing supports in the Mackay and Whitsunday region for over 50 years. In this role, you’ll provide a supportive environment for individuals to live as independently as possible, while working with the NDIS team to make a real difference.

About Us:
MADEC is a not for profit, community organisation. Recognized as a Public Benevolent Institution since 2014, we have been providing disability and youth supports in the Mackay and Whitsunday region since 1973. We are a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Provider and Licensed Child Safety provider in Mackay.

About the Role: As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and
encouraging environment for NDIS participants. Working closely with your Key Support Workers and Team Leader, you will help empower individuals to thrive and master independent living skills. This role plays an important part in MADEC's mission to empower and support people to do their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered supports by ensuring the right amount of assistance to each
    individual.
  • Provide documented support including completing incident reports, behavior reports,
    hazard reports and maintenance requests.
  • Provide positive behavior support by implementing support strategies.
  • Empower individuals to exercise choice and control in their lives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace health & safety.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, sleepovers,
    weekends and public holidays.
  • A Certificate III in Community Services (or equivalent) or willingness to
    complete.
  • A valid Queensland Driver’s License.
  • A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or
    willingness to obtain.
