You are also a confident decision maker in crisis situations.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

This opportunity will allow you to use your life skills and experience to support our clients in their recovery within one of our mental health support services. This role involves supporting service users in managing their wellbeing and recovery, establishing daily routines, and attaining life skills. The roles require an understanding of Te Ao Māori and knowledge of tikanga practices.

What you will need to have:

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to inspire and motivate people to achieve their goals

• Ability to advocate, network and build positive community relationships

• Knowledge of New Zealand’s health system and local community groups and resources

• A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Mental Health and Addictions Support

• NZ professional body registration if applicable to the role

• Commitment to The Treaty of Waitangi and understanding of tikanga Māori
