THE ROLE:

We are looking for Support Workers who are values-driven, compassionate, reliable, and committed to providing the highest level of quality care and support to join our team at Kings Cottage. This is a key role, working to enable and empower our housemates to live independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Delivering personalised support in the home and out in the community based on the needs and interest of the housemates
  • Assisting housemates to create healthy meals, with personal care and administering medications
  • Support housemates to engage and participate in the community and assist with medical appointments
  • Enter case notes into the Client Management System

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experienced, professional with a positive and passionate approach to providing the highest level of support
  • Be energetic, ambitious, and seeking to learn and grow in the role
  • A commitment to providing responsive, person-centred, and considerate care
  • Flexible and adaptive communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Flexibility to work morning, evening, and weekends
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR (HLTAID003) Certificates
  • Full Covid Vaccination including Booster
  • Must have full NSW Driver's Licence & a reliable vehicle
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Experience with Behaviour Management - desirable but not essential

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
