Job Description

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable female Support Worker who speaks Italian or spanish to provide in-home assistance and companionship to a client in Merrylands. This role is essential in supporting the client's independence, wellbeing, and daily living needs in a respectful and person-centred manner. The position offers flexible, ongoing shifts that contribute to meaningful work within the local community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and companionship to the client in their home.
  • Assist with daily living activities to promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations and activities to enhance the client's quality of life.
  • Maintain a respectful and supportive environment tailored to the client's needs.
  • Document and report any changes in the client's condition or needs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in both Italian or Spanish and English.
  • Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or community care preferred.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and patient approach to care.
  • Ability to provide personal care and companionship support.
  • Valid driver's licence preferred but not essential depending on travel arrangements.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
