Make a real difference on our awake night shift in Whanganui, supporting people through short-term, recovery-focused crisis respite care while using your Level 4 qualification, compassion, and practical skills to create a safe and supportive environment.
We are looking for an experienced support worker to join our 24/7 crisis respite team. Our service offers support for 4 guests at a time who are experiencing mental health distress. Referrals come to our service via Te Whatu Ora Mental Health Services and we can receive referrals at any time of the day or night.
On the awake night shift you’ll be there to lend a hand with everyday things like making meals and helping to maintain our whare. You will provide calm and steady support for guests while they focus on their wellbeing. Every shift is a chance to make a difference in someone’s life.

This role is working Thursday to Saturday on our awake nights shift working from 11pm -7.30am in Whanganui.
You’re a natural when it comes to caring with empathy and understand the power of working in a recovery-focused way, where individuals take charge of their own journey, making you an ideal fit for this role.
