Your Role

As a Support Worker at Edel Quinn, you will play a key role in empowering individuals experiencing homelessness on their path to stable housing. You will assist with client intake, assessments, and daily operations, ensuring each client receives the tailored care and support they need to thrive. Join a compassionate and inclusive team where your professional growth is valued, and your contributions make a meaningful difference in the community.

Your Responsibility

  • Supporting clients with day-to-day needs in line with their case plans
  • Assisting with intakes, assessments, and smooth exits from the service

  • Helping manage accommodation services including meal prep and room checks

  • Working alongside case workers to support group activities and referrals

  • Advocating for clients and helping them access essential services

  • Keeping accurate, professional records and maintaining a safe, clean space

  • Ensuring WHS standards are upheld at all times

You Will Need

  • Available to work a rotating roster covering days, overnights and weekends, although not every week some flexibility required.
  • A Certificate qualification in a relevant field or current tertiary studies

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Confidence to work both independently and within a team

  • Good judgement and calm approach in challenging situations

  • A current first aid certificate

  • A respectful, ethical and non-judgemental approach

  • An understanding of WHS and risk management principles

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
