Due to growth and development within our services we have several opportunities to welcome experienced health and social care professionals to our supported living services in Leeds area.

We are looking for experienced, compassionate support workers to provide 2:1 support for a 21-year-old woman in her own home.

This is a highly person-centred role, supporting a young woman with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), alongside a background of mental health and trauma-related needs.

The role of a Home not Hospital support worker is integral to enabling individuals to meet their personal goals, develop life and coping skills, form and maintain relationships and manage all aspects of daily life including personal care and medication, following PBS plans, care plans and risk assessments. The role includes working as part of a dedicated team which includes the service manager, team leaders and PBS practitioner.

She is a creative, warm and engaging young woman with a great sense of humour who enjoys building positive relationships with those who support her.

• Spending time with cats

She benefits from staff who are patient, understanding and able to engage with her interests in a meaningful and encouraging way.

• Build confidence and independence in daily living
• Express herself through creative and enjoyable activities
• Maintain emotional wellbeing and stability
• Engage safely in the community, including leisure activities
• Develop routines and structure that meet her needs

To be part of our team, do you have the following qualities?

• Have experience supporting individuals with autism and mental health needs
• Understand trauma-informed care approaches
• Can provide consistent, calm and reassuring support
• Are able to recognise and respond sensitively to anxiety and compulsive behaviours
• Can follow structured care plans and risk management strategies
• Are confident working alongside external professionals where required
• Experience in complex care, mental health, forensic or psychiatric settings
• A strong understanding of autism and person-centred support
• Ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships
• Confidence in working within structured support plans
• A genuine passion for making a positive difference
• Calm, patient and emotionally aware
• Creative and willing to engage in activities
• Reliable and committed to consistency
• Respectful of individuality and communication styles

Schedule:

• Shift work over a 7-day period including bank holidays
• 12-hour shifts
  • 8am – 8pm day shift
  • 8pm – 8am waking night shift
• Overtime

Licence/Certification:

• Care Certificate
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)

· £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.

· £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
