The Aftercare Support Team offer support and guidance to Fife care experienced young people age 16-26 who live in their own tenancies or one of the various supported accommodations they can access.

An exciting opportunity have arisen for a Support Worker within the Aftercare Support Team.

This role involves supporting young people with day to day tasks.

Supporting young people within their tenancies and assisting them to set up their first tenancy.

Supporting them as difficulties arise.

Make applications/referrals for young people.

Facilitate group work in response to the needs of the young people e.g cooking groups/gym groups.

Lone working.

Working alongside other professionals.

Mapping out available community resources.

Ongoing training will be provided, this includes ‘outcome star’ and ‘decider skills.’

The Person

  • Experience working with either care experienced young people or teens/young adults.
  • Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.
  • You should be able to work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic and ambitious team.
  • You should be caring, compassionate and responsive to the needs of our young people.
  • Confidence with IT skills as case recording and other administration duties will need to be completed on LCS and applications be made for young people e.g UC.
  • Ability to travel within Fife.
  • Ability to support group work.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
