About the role

MSJ Australia is seeking an empathetic and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Darwin NT. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their personal goals and live independently. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing:

• Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community events
• Facilitating and encouraging client participation in recreational and educational programs
• Monitoring client progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the care team
• Advocating for client rights and ensuring their needs are met
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation as required

What we're looking for

• Relevant experience in the disability or aged care sector, or a strong desire to work in this field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
• A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to providing care
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A current Queensland driver's license and access to reliable car.
• A demonstrated commitment to upholding the principles of dignity, respect, and choice for individuals with disabilities
