Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist with accurate and timely processing of federal and state Veteran educational benefits.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $42,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate applications and document data to make eligibility determinations for UTA students currently utilizing the state Hazlewood Act exemption.
  • Follow up with students as necessary. Monitor all components of Hazlewood eligibility.
  • Provide exceptional Customer Service/Communications and respond to individual student inquiries daily via shared email and phone line.
  • Manage authorizations and payments in Tungsten for the Ch. 31 VR&E program.
  • Support and monitor day-to-day operations of the Military and Veterans Services Center. Assist with the management of the Veteran Work Study Program.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of required reports to Texas Veterans Commission and UT System. Assists with preparation of federal Veteran Affairs department audit.
  • Monitor student accounts to assist with term-based tuition and fee payments and office payment policies. Assist with certification of federal VA benefits utilizing MyMav (PeopleSoft) and Enrollment Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience evaluating eligibility for benefits.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, ImageNow, and/or Enrollment Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of policy and procedures for federal and state Veteran educational programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and outside contacts.
