Job Description

Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

Location: Everett, WA

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Pay: $22.00 - $25.99 per hour.

OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Support Services Technician serves as the initial contact for all persons approaching the branch for services and information. The Support Services Technician coordinates the smooth flow of directing requests to the appropriate individual/department and performs various clerical and data entry functions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Site Supervisor. This is a

non-supervisory position.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

1. Receives all incoming phone calls for the branch; answers questions, routes calls, takes messages, and refers to community agencies.

2. Enters client information into computer.

3. Packet duplication and preparation.

4. Maintains current and accurate counseling, medical and intake appointment schedules and makes appointments for same via computer.

5. Maintains up-to-date procedures as they relate to this position.

6. Conveys warm, helpful image to patients/guests via phone and in person.

7. Conveys warm, helpful image to co-workers via phone and in person.

8. Ensures the lobby activity is a safe, calm and professional environment.

9. Responsible for occasional scanning and attaching.

10. Attends all staff meetings and unit meetings as required.

11. Other support duties and committee involvements as assigned by the Support Manager and Site Supervisor.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

1. General office experience.

2. Customer service skills to include phone skills.

3. Familiarity with: office products, equipment and procedures.

4. Experience with computers, data entry and record maintenance.

5. Ability to comply with confidentiality requirements.

6. Excellent organizational skills.

7. Two years prior experience to include similar duties; experience in a medical setting preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be willing and able to administer basic First Aid, CPR, AED for medical emergencies, and Naloxone for suspected overdose. Must also be able and willing to follow basic safety protocols such as calling 911 and alerting medical personnel on staff.
  • Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings
  • Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use fingers, hands, and arms
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds
  • Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required
  • Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary
  • Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
