
Responsibilities
For Civil Team
Plan, organise and supervise the day-to-day maintenance works / capital, revenue and maintenance projects carried out by direct staff, contractor staff and term labours to ensure railway civil assets and the associated trackside civil facilities are properly maintained
Perform structural inspection / investigation, preventive / corrective maintenance and emergency repair as well as update work procedures
Undertake performance monitoring and reporting, contract administration, records management and system support as well as coordination with internal and external stakeholders
For Support Engineer
Monitor and analyse the site-specific conditions, design changes, and develop engineering and working drawings for the effective implementation of the works in Civil Structures
Assist in providing engineering solutions to the existing system design, and propose long term solutions to meet the objective in providing a safe, reliable and efficient Civil Structures
Provide comments to engineering reports on various in-house technical study / investigation
Co-ordinate with Unit Manager and Engineers in reviewing and consolidating the technical specifications of the tender document during the tendering process
Carry out site inspection, including conducting risk assessment on the method statements and regular railway line safety audits to ensure that the works are done in accordance with the quality and safety specifications
Requirements
Higher Diploma / Higher Certificate in Civil / Construction Engineering or a related discipline
A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years should be at supervisory level
For Support Engineer Degree in Civil / Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Possession of an arborist certification from the International Society of Arboriculture is an advantage for the Tree and Landscape team
Possession of a valid Hong Kong driving licence class 1 and 2, as well as knowledge of concrete repair, leak sealing, tree and landscape maintenance are preferred
Good communication and interpersonal skills with proactiveness and the ability to work independently
Previous experience in railway civil engineering project and construction contractor liaison would be an advantage
