Tallahassee, FL (mix of in-office, on-site, and remote after a warmup period)
Network Mountain is running a search for our client, a security integrator serving a Florida state hospital system with a large, complex camera and access-control footprint, where one account alone runs thousands of cameras. We're looking for a Support Engineer III who lives at the server and network level and can be trained up on access control, not someone who only knows the application surface.
Load and configure software on virtual machines and own deployments end to end
Troubleshoot and diagnose server, software, and application issues in a reactive, fast-turnaround role
Dig into Windows Server, SQL, and application logs to find root cause
Support a large hospital-system customer with a sizable camera and access-control footprint
Handle basic server hardware when needed, including replacing a hard drive or wiping and reinstalling Windows
Learn and support access-control platforms (Avigilon, Milestone, Lenel, C-Cure)
Travel to sites when on-site work is required, working mostly independently and occasionally with a team
Administered Windows Server environments and worked server-side, not just at the desktop
Written and worked with SQL, and leaned on strong database knowledge day to day
Troubleshot networking issues as a core part of the job, networking here is paramount
Deployed and configured software on virtual machines and diagnosed application problems from the logs
Replaced server hardware and rebuilt machines when needed
Worked in a security integrator environment (a strong plus) or with Avigilon, Milestone, Lenel, or C-Cure (a strong plus)
Held roles long enough to show stability, military background is a plus
Compensation is $75,000 to $100,000, depending on experience, plus a company vehicle or vehicle allowance, cell phone, and laptop. You'd report to the GM of Florida and work out of a smaller Tallahassee office with a tight team, supporting a hospital system with real technical depth and a high-camera-count account that keeps the work interesting. If you've been the IT and server person everyone leans on but want a role where that server and network skill set is the center of the job, this is that role. The expectation here is that you diagnose fast, handle server work independently, and take issues to resolution without being managed through them.
