Your Mission
Mission 1 You will join the Res Post-trade team, as a business analyst / junior project manager. The team handles the modelling of Wind and Solar farms around the world, and the life-cycle management of Engie’s PPA (Power Purchase Agreements) contracts as negotiated with Engie’ clients who are asset owners. In this team, your role will be to analyze the business requirements in detail, determine the solutions to be implemented with the development teams, and follow-up throughout the development process up to the deployment into production.
You will learn about the diversity of Engie’s renewable assets portfolio, and the services provided by Engie to its customers, both internal (R&F) and external (3d party assets).
Mission 2: You will join the Market services team, as a business analyst / junior project manager. The team handles interactions with wholesale Power markets in Europe and provides traders services of position follow-up, price observation, trading execution strategies and orders /execution management on the market.
You will learn about the different market mechanisms currently used in Europe (auctions, continuous markets, OTC, …), their products and how they underpin EM’s trading activity around Power.
Mission 3: you will join the Global optimization team, in charge of the framework used by Quants to optimize the use of our assets over the different markets (Windfarms, Solar farms, Batteries, Hydro assets, Thermal assets, Downstream flexibility, …). This involves the use of the assets modelling that you will have discovered in Mission 1, and the market access you will have discovered in Mission 2. Quant develops models to decide, in real time, how the asset should produce or consume power from the network, and what orders must be sent to the market, to optimize the profitability of the asset.
You will learn about flexibility markets organized by grid operators (TSO’s) to guarantee the stability of the power grids in Europe, and how Engie both participates to this balance, and ensure the profitability of the assets it manages.
