This position is located in Warehouse Services, SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, SC.




Responsibilities of the Supply Specialist II

• Responsible for overseeing and administering the filling of all daily Regular Supply requests received by Supply Management from internal and external partners/sections. Also responsible for preparing orders for the daily shipments of Regular Supply requests to the Agency’s Field Offices, Headquarters and External Partners.
• Responsible for receiving, inspecting, and stocking, supplies and materials ordered to replenish stock levels within Supply Management. Responsible for communicating with Inventory Management on received forms and supplies so as Inventory Management can perform the QC process. Responsible for assisting with placement or racking of forms and supplies received by Supply Management.
• Responsible for rotating specific inventory items that are received by Supply Management with the stock rotation principle of first in first out (FIFO). Responsible for assisting Inventory Management in performing a monthly inventory cycle-count and weekly and quarterly inventory reviews on all forms and supplies held in the DMV Supply Warehouse.
• Responsible for assisting Excess Property Management, Recycle Management and the Records Management Program with the day to day functions on an as needed basis, this will include but not be limited to pick-ups and deliveries and the destruction of DL material and License Plates.
• Performs other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager. All requests for other duties required will be issued both orally and in writing.

A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.

Agency Requirements

• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.

Additional Requirements

• Must have considerable knowledge of supply practices and procedures.
• Must have knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
• Ability to plan and oversee the work of others pertaining to daily supply practices.
• Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with all divisions within the agency.
• Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
• Performs job duties under general or limited supervision.
• Oversees all Regular Supply shipments and must be able to make independent decisions pertaining to supply practices as necessary.
• Will have to work with other divisions in the agency, other state and local agencies and contract shippers.
• Must be able to bend, stoop and lift over 50 pounds.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.
• Must have a valid SC Driver's License.
• Ability to drive 12 ft. to 22 ft. trucks and forklifts (order picker).
• Employee work hours may include overtime work and limited overnight travel.
• The person in this position is authorized to operate powered industrial trucks (heavy machinery). For example: forklift, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
• The person in this position is also authorized to use manual pallet jacks, manual push/pull carts, manual hand trucks and ladders.
• Agency issued steel toe footwear must be worn in the Warehouse floor area at all times.
• The work hours for the person in this position are 8:00 to 4:30.
