Job Title: Supply Planning Lead, Global SC Ready to Drink
Location: Cork Factory
JOB PURPOSE
Pepsi Lipton is a Joint Venture (JV) formed between Unilever and PepsiCo to capitalise on the growth of the ready-to-drink tea segment. It is a global business worth ca. 3 billion USD today, growing volume at the rate of ca. 4-5%.
Unilever supports the JV through the Global Ready to Drink (RTD) supply chain. The Global RTD supply chain is responsible for planning and manufacturing the concentrate kits that are supplied to the Pepsi Lipton JV. The concentrate kit manufacturing network includes the Lipton Soft Drinks Ireland (LSDI) factory in Cork and a 3P concentrate kit factory in Limerick. The value of concentrate kits manufactured per annum is c. €65m. Unilever has confirmed that the Pepsi Lipton JV is outside scope of the move to combine Unilever Foods and the McCormick business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supply Planning Lead is a key member of the Global RTD SC team and the main purpose of the role is to ensure long term & short-term supply of concentrate kits and meet the agreed service levels for the two Pepsi Lipton customers – Pepsi Lipton International (PLI) who operates on a make-to-forecast inventory replenishment model and Pepsi Lipton Partnership (PLP) who operates on a make-to-order model. This role will require aligning cross functional teams in both Unilever and Pepsi Lipton and offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the business and in shaping the ways of working.
Strategic:
• Deliver the business supply planning process, particularly the annual business planning cycle, ensuring a robust supply plan is provided to LSDI and the 3P concentrate kit factory, as a key driver of annual tea powder pricing.
• Drive long-term value through the implementation of the portfolio-driven run strategy at LSDI and the 3P concentrate kit factory, in collaboration with PLI.
• Work closely with Pepsi Lipton on common agenda to drive forecast accuracy and customer order behaviour.
• Work with CM Procurement and Pepsi Lipton on optimum allocation of volume and SKUs to the 3P concentrate kit factory.
• Partner with Finance to ensure the full-year production plan is aligned with the UEBV turnover forecast and proactively highlight risks and opportunities.
• Manage the run-up and run-down of all materials related to innovations, renovations, and promotions to minimize business waste and ensure the timely availability of new materials.
• Collaborate with Pepsi Lipton to rationalize the concentrate kit portfolio and ingredient base, simplifying supply chain complexity and improving operational efficiency.
Operational:
• Lead the weekly operational supply planning process for finished goods, focusing on stock cover for PLI, OTIF order fulfilment for PLP, and achievement of UEBV turnover and working capital targets.
• Ensure plan adherence in the frozen horizon
• Develop and maintain mid- and long-term production plans for LSDI and the 3P concentrate kit factory.
• Identify concentrate kits with potential short-term supply risks through the weekly planning process and develop and execute effective mitigation plans.
• Proactively identify potential capacity bottlenecks through the RCCP process and develop countermeasures in close collaboration with the LSDI, BSNI, and PLI teams.
• Work closely with the Materials Lead to identify potential production bottlenecks caused by material supply constraints and proactively reschedule production to avoid line stoppages.
• Work closely with the Portfolio, Innovation & 3P Operations Lead to ensure timely planning, production and delivery of NPIs
• Monitor demand signals from PLI and PLP and engage with Demand Planners to understand forecast changes and their implications.
• Maintain the integrity of finished goods planned orders, production orders, and subcontracting purchase orders in SAP.
• Manage obsolete inventory and coordinate the write-off process for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials.
• Be responsible for maintaining finished goods inventory accuracy and investigating and resolving stock variances.
• Own all master data related to finished goods planning across SAP ECC, UniSol, APO, RAGB, RCCP, and Kinaxis.
• Provide cover for the Materials Lead and the Portfolio, Innovation & 3P Operations Lead as required.
ALL ABOUT YOU
• Suitable years of experience in supply/demand planning and general supply chain
• Computer literacy: SAP ECC or other ERP; Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI competent
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to use data and systems directly to create own insights
o Ability to analyse large sets of data and bring clear and concise insights to senior stakeholders
o Ability to track, root cause and summarise for senior stakeholders the week to week and month to month variations in demand
• An ability to see the bigger picture but with good attention to detail
• Flexible and responsive to change
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Capable of setting and achieving targets / deadlines themselves as well as motivating others to do so
