Supply, Demand & Transport Planner

About the Role

The Supply & Demand & Transport Planner is responsible for planning and managing demand, supply, inventory, and transportation activities to ensure optimal product availability while balancing service level, cost, and working capital objectives. The role works closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the efficient flow of materials and products, supporting business objectives and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Success will be measured through improved planning accuracy, stronger inventory control, enhanced transport efficiency, and reduced reactive firefighting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Forecast Planning

  • Own and maintain demand forecasts based on commercial input.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to validate demand assumptions.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and propose continuous improvements.
  • Identify demand risks and deviations.

Supply & Production Planning

  • Translate demand into supply and production plans.
  • Balance capacity constraints, lead times, and service level requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production and Logistics to ensure feasible plans.
  • Adjust supply plans based on changes in demand, capacity, or operational conditions.
  • Support and actively participate in S&OP reviews, providing data-driven recommendations on demand, supply, inventory, and transport performance.

Transport Planning

  • Develop and maintain transport plans to support demand, supply, and inventory requirements across the region.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable and cost-efficient deliveries.
  • Monitor transportation performance, freight costs, and carrier service levels, driving corrective actions when required.
  • Identify transport risks, capacity constraints, and delivery deviations, proactively implementing mitigation actions.

Inventory Management

  • Own and monitor inventory levels, including stock, safety stock, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Identify risks related to shortages, excess inventory, or obsolescence.
  • Drive actions to optimize inventory and working capital.
  • Ensure transparency on inventory drivers and deviations.

Order Management & Execution Alignment

  • Oversee the order fulfilment flow from order intake to delivery.
  • Ensure alignment between orders, stock availability, and transport execution.
  • Support prioritization and allocation decisions during constraints.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to ensure execution follows the plan.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, service level, inventory turnover, working capital, transport cost performance, and on-time delivery.

  • Identify improvement opportunities and support process optimization.
  • Contribute to the implementation of standard planning processes and tools.
  • Support S&OP and cross-functional alignment processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Commercial, Production, Logistics, and Finance teams.
  • Act as a key interface between demand and supply functions.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in planning, supply chain, or operations.
  • Strong experience with forecasting, inventory management, transport, and planning processes.
  • Experience working with ERP and planning systems.
  • Experience working in multi-site and multi-country environments.
  • Transformation or standardization experience will be considered an advantage.
