The Supply Coordinator Intern provides entry-level support for perioperative supply chain operations in the operating room (OR). This position assists with organization, inventory management, and standardization initiatives designed to improve supply availability, workflow efficiency, and operational consistency. The role operates under supervision and follows established policies, procedures, and guidance from leadership.
This internship is structured as a learning and developmental opportunity, allowing the incumbent to gain exposure to healthcare supply chain processes, perioperative operations, and performance improvement methodologies while contributing to departmental projects. All duties are performed in accordance with UAMS policies, procedures, and patient and family-centered care principles.
Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Assist in reorganizing perioperative supply rooms, including restickering, labeling, and restructuring inventory layouts.
Support standardization of supply storage areas to improve accessibility, efficiency, and consistency across locations.
Review supply par levels, packaging configurations, and inventory workflows. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve supply availability, reduce waste, and streamline replenishment processes within the OR environment.
Participate in the development and rollout of specialty supply cabinets in operating rooms.
Support efforts to standardize supply placement to enhance clinical workflow and accessibility for surgical teams.
Work with perioperative leadership and interdisciplinary teams to track project progress, document updates, maintain action item lists, and assist with meeting minutes and communications.
Support operational improvement initiatives through data organization, workflow analysis, and staff engagement.
Assist with identifying inefficiencies and contributing to solutions related to supply management and OR operations.
Other duties as assigned.
