Supply Chain/Purchasing Specialist - Raw Material & Packaging - Fort Collins, CO

MAIN FUNCTION: Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Supply Chain Raw Material Specialist is a key tactical position, within the Supply Chain Management Team. Supply Chain Raw Material Specialist II, acting part of the team requires minimal supervision and is able to resolve difficult questions and problems. Primary role will be the daily execution of PO’s & maintenance of incoming ingredients while dealing with complex issues, will have a higher level of responsibility and their workload is generally multifaceted and specialized.

The Supply Chain Raw Material Specialist II must have problem solving ability, be well organized, analytical, self-directed and may also perform routine clerical functions, including filing, answering phones, distributing materials and record retention. The Supply Chain Raw Material Specialist will be proficient in multiple computer applications and will be expected to become proficient in all ADM MIS systems.

OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Responsible for all assigned category(ies) inbound raw material management
  • Ensure timely and accurate PO Issuance
  • Work collaboratively with Logistics Team to determine appropriate transportation mode to help control freight cost.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inbound raw material delays
  • Collaborate with Strategic Buyers, local supply chain team and broader business teams as required.
  • Alignment with Strategic Procurement on Raw Material Data Attributes (safety stock levels, forecast & lead times) within ERP system
  • Support vendor payment process (help aid in any payment delays and/or discrepancies with vendors)
  • Optimize Raw Material Inventory
  • Maximize Operational Efficiency with Right Quantity / Right Quality focus
  • Reduce Working Capital Requirements by minimizing excess raw material inventory
  • Perform data entry & analysis of inventory, cost saving, synergy and other required metrics
  • Track Vendor Execution KPI’s (assist with supplier scorecard data)
  • Analyze inbound raw material process structure, identify areas of improvement and lead change initiative
  • Manage priorities from multiple internal customers while remaining professional and thorough
  • Perform data entry & analysis of inventory, cost saving, synergy and other required metrics
  • Attends training sessions external and internal to keep on top of new technology and innovation
  • Aligns own goals in accordance with goals of upper management
  • Makes quick effective decisions to meet commercial business standards.
  • Develops superior knowledge of supply chain operations and organizational awareness.
  • Work to attain positive, cooperative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions & responsibilities
  • Effectively use communication channels for proper coordination within the office & other locations
  • Portray a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customers & colleagues
  • Prepare and submits daily & ad hoc reports
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

  • Is willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, depending on business need.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • University Degree in Business Administration or in a related field preferred (Logistics/Supply Chain)
  • 3+ years’ experience in Purchasing, Logistics & Supply Chain; food and/or flavor experience a plus
  • Indirect packaging experience is required
  • Proven Leadership and Communication skills.
  • Computer skills (database, spreadsheets, processing software) and Math skills
  • Self- motivated commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to excel within high-risk and fast paced work environment
  • Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions
  • Manage effective working relationships with co-workers, suppliers, internal customers & operations

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$54,600.00 - $102,000.00

Salaried Incentive Plan

The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus
