As the Supply Chain Technician joining our team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier ®. The Supply Chain Technician supporting the Operating Room plays a critical role in ensuring surgical teams have the medical and surgical supplies needed to provide safe, efficient, and timely patient care. This role is responsible for receiving, stocking, organizing, distributing, and replenishing Operating Room supplies; maintaining accurate inventory levels and records; processing shipments and requisitions; and responding to time-sensitive supply needs. The Supply Chain Technician works closely with surgical and clinical teams to maintain supply readiness, resolve inventory discrepancies, and support efficient, cost-effective supply chain operations within the Operating Room. How you’ll contribute

As a Supply Chain Technician in the Operating Room, you will excel by:

  • Maintaining accurate inventory through routine cycle counts, timely inventory adjustments, and consistent monitoring of supply levels and par requirements.
  • Ensuring surgical supplies are available when needed by efficiently stocking, organizing, and replenishing Operating Room and departmental supplies.
  • Supporting efficient patient care operations by promptly processing requisitions, fulfilling supply requests, and delivering materials to the appropriate departments.
  • Managing incoming supplies accurately by receiving shipments, verifying and documenting receipts, entering information into inventory systems, and reporting damaged or incorrect items.
  • Leveraging technology and inventory systems to maintain accurate records, complete data-entry tasks, track supplies, and support efficient supply chain operations.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with clinical teams, hospital departments, vendors, and other stakeholders while appropriately handling telephone, receiving dock, and walk-up inquiries.
  • Contributing to safe, timely patient care by ensuring surgical teams have the supplies and resources needed to support daily Operating Room activities.

What we’re looking for

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a willingness to learn and develop within a healthcare supply chain environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory, documentation, and computer records.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, determine appropriate next steps, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure Operating Room environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet supply needs, and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Computer proficiency and adaptability, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple inventory, supply chain, and hospital information systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clinical staff, hospital departments, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and physically capable, with the ability to work effectively in a physically active healthcare environment while supporting safe, timely patient care.
