Job Description

Based in Lynfield, AsureQuality has the largest Food Testing Laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere. To keep our laboratory running smoothly we need a person to support Stores, Warehousing, Inventory and Despatch within the business. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday.

About the role

We are looking for a practical, organised and customer-focused person to join our Inventory & Logistics team.

This is a varied, hands-on role primarily focused on customer order fulfilment and dispatch, with responsibility for processing consumable orders from receipt through to picking, packing and dispatch via our third-party logistics providers.

The role combines inventory and dispatch activities with systems-based order processing, customer communication and general administration. You will need to be equally comfortable working on a computer, responding to customer enquiries and working within our inventory and dispatch areas.

Accuracy and attention to detail are important, as the role includes stock, batch and product documentation checks as well as providing information to support customer invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders for consumables
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently for dispatch
• Arrange and coordinate dispatch through our third-party logistics and courier service providers
• Respond to and action customer order queries, concerns and complaints, escalating where appropriate
• Maintain accurate order, dispatch and inventory information within relevant systems
• Receive, check, store and issue inventory as required
• Check stock batches, expiry information and Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) where applicable
• Support stock rotation and good inventory control practices
• Provide accurate order and dispatch information to support customer invoicing
• Complete general administrative and record-keeping activities associated with customer orders and inventory
• Assist with stocktakes and inventory checks as required
• Maintain clean, organised and safe inventory and dispatch areas
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and service providers to resolve order and delivery issues
• Support other Inventory & Logistics activities as required

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in dispatch, order fulfilment, stores, inventory or warehousing
• A basic understanding of warehouse and inventory processes
• Experience picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch
• Good computer skills and confidence working across different systems
• Microsoft Excel skills and experience with general data entry and record keeping
• Confidence using email as part of day-to-day customer communication
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to professionally manage customer queries and complaints
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
• Good administrative and organisational skills
• The ability to prioritise and manage multiple orders and competing tasks
• The ability to follow established procedures and recognise when an issue needs to be escalated
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• A reliable and practical approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Experience working with inventory or order-processing systems, batch-controlled products, Certificates of Analysis or third-party logistics providers would be advantageous.

What we're looking for

You don't necessarily need extensive warehousing experience to be successful in this role. More importantly, we're looking for someone who is organised, accurate, comfortable using systems, responsive to customers and willing to take ownership of getting an order from receipt through to dispatch.

You'll enjoy this role if you like variety, have a practical approach to problem-solving and are comfortable balancing hands-on dispatch activities with customer service and administration.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Warehouse or Stores Operator, Despatch and or 3PL and courier service
