This role is a dynamic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations for Managed Accounts and Segments across North America. This directly supervises and mentors a team of supply chain professionals, driving activities that align with both customer needs and company objectives. The role oversees the team that is managing daily supply chain operations with our largest, most strategic customers. Fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement; proactively creating efficiencies, and implementing processes to optimize product flow from supplier to customer are key.

The Supervisor serves as a critical liaison between GFS Supply Chain and its diverse partners, managing complex customer relationships and ensuring demand and inventory requirements are met for both ongoing and new business. This role is pivotal in developing and motivating team members, setting successful goals, and collaborating on goal achievement while monitoring and managing KPIs to drive optimal performance.

How you will make an impact:

  • Manage the team supporting customer inventory needs for the supply chain from onboarding throughout the existence of the contract. Hold Supply Chain teams and customers accountable to contractual commitments.

  • Develop and maintains the customer relationship, including customer business reviews, site visits, etc.

  • Develop vision and executes the strategy and systems to support team goals

  • Responsible for facilitating multi-unit supply chain activities and overseeing the day-to-day business activities of the department such as transitions to outside storage, new customers, vendor transitions, and training.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders regularly regarding capacity planning, long-range planning, sales strategy, marketing intelligence, seasonal planning, customer management, etc.

  • Provide weekly/monthly reports on key performance indicators through benchmarking.

  • Assist in launching new customers and implementing new distribution points within our network.

  • Cultivate an environment of continuous improvement with an emphasis on collaboration, personal ownership, growth, and development.

  • Manage and develops team members(recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, terminations, performance reviews, professional development)

Performs other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Four or more years experience with food service distribution, managing/interacting with customer facing accounts, supply chain management; including two years of progressive leadership experience. In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or related is preferred.

  • In-depth understanding of principles and methods for Demand, Replenishment, Supplier Relations, and moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits

  • Ability to lead the team and interact with Senior leaders and leaders in other departments/roles, develop relationships, etc. Able to lead meetings and manage the responsibility of follow-up with collaborating team members.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Intuitive and applicable understanding of the financial, profitability, and cash drivers, external environment, and the “big picture” of the business to enable good, quick business decisions.

  • Self-directed with the ability to deal with distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc.

  • Knowledge of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiply, divide, and percentages).

  • Initiate and lead conversations, excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute efficient work processes.

  • Ability to regularly reprioritize the day to day as needed.

  • Able to manage high pressure situations.

  • Highly skilled in providing and influencing the organization to meet the needs of the customer. Understands principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Proven problem solver and can develop solutions to a variety of complex problems by comparing, classifying, innovating, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc. May refer to established precedents and policies.

  • Influence others to make a positive impact on the customer and Gordon Food Service.

  • Subject matter expert on GFS Supply Chain applications, processes, and techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions and Google applications; including sheets, documents, and slides.

  • Knowledge of supply chain software and business analytic reporting tools, dossiers, and data studios.

  • Standard office equipment including copy machine, printer, laptop/PC, mobile technology, teleconferencing and remote connectivity.
