Job Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist supports end-to-end plant operations by executing a broad range of supply chain and production planning activities. This role coordinates the delivery of food products, packaging, and raw materials while managing inventory levels, aging, and material flow. Key responsibilities include production scheduling, capacity and materials requirement planning, logistics coordination, and oversight of finished goods shipments. The position also serves as a key liaison with customers and vendors to ensure efficient operations and high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedules production in accordance to customer forecast demands working with Supply Chain Scheduler to lock in the system.
  • Focus is to schedule and meet customer service target per the contract percent
  • Orders materials needed for production of customer orders and purchase order management weekly.
  • Manages materials inventory from purchase order, aging/hold management to production usage and/or disposition
  • Works on setting up part numbers, bill of materials, assembly routing instructions, engineering standards, date code formats and aging requirements in the ERP system.
  • Works on purchase order optimization and inventory reduction initiatives to keep working capital down
  • Sets up and coordinates outbound shipping of finished goods and residual materials directly or through the Outbound Specialist.
  • Responsible for data maintenance, updating of system records and reports for Supply Chain and Production
  • Proactively Manages hard and soft changes in materials and works with customer on residual inventory disposition or ramp down trackers.
  • Responsible for end to end materials management: Inventory set up per the optimization playbook, PO placement/revision to the DOH targets, inventory aging, inventory usage or disposition and follows through to completion
  • Managers directed buy supplier relationships by addressing materials shortages and proactively works with suppliers that are non-compliant to delivery schedules or defects for cost recovery
  • May be responsible for executing invoicing for items produced/shipped and extra services “operational billing” performed.
  • Reports all materials activity to customer as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years of supply chain experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with MS Office Suite and SAP
  • Skills:
  • Effectively communicates with customers, vendors, and internal teams via phone, email, and in-person interactions to address service, materials, and planning needs.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and business communications; capable of interacting professionally with all stakeholders
  • Applies sound judgment and critical thinking to interpret and execute detailed written and verbal instructions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work Environment:
  • Multi-shift production operations may be expansive, noisy and vary in temperature from very cold (USDA) to ambient or warm in summer months. In addition, some facilities are multi-level and may require ascending or descending stairs. Requirements for this position require the ability to access production and warehouse operations to execute hands-on execution of related activities such as participating in DDS meeting or physical inventory counts.

This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $45,921 - $68,881/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
