TheSenior Managerof Cell and GeneTherapyCommercial Supply Chainwilldriveslotmanagementoperationsto support Vertex’sautologouscell and gene therapyprogram.Theslot managementmodelincludesdynamic,shortrange, andsituationalplanning and operationsto allowvisibility andpatient schedulingTheSenior Managerwillbe responsible forestablishing,maintaining, revising, andexecutingslotmanagementrules and principlesto ensure patients are appropriately scheduledwithinmanufacturingcapacity and regulatory requirements.This includes chairingCDMO andcross-functionalmeetings anddrivingcontent ofkey presentations to cross-functional leadersThrough cross-functional alignment, theSenior Managerwill drive thedataused in thecreation,maintenance, and usageofaKey PerformanceIndicators(KPIs)Dashboard In this role, theSenior Managerwillberesponsible forcreating business processes and opportunities to ensure capacity utilization across the Supply Chain network.This includes representation as key Supply Chain lead for cross-functional workstreamsand initiatives.TheSenior Managerwill work closely withkey stakeholdersincludingtheFinance,Regulatory,Commercial,Logistics, Manufacturing,and Vertex’s Cell and Gene Therapy Site.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead initiatives to deliver innovative and impactful business resultsbyleveragingknowledge ofCGT Supply Chain processes
Proactivelyidentify, document, and resolve risks through the Risk Management program.
Compliantly drive issues to resolution
Applyexpertiseof CGT Supply Chainand enable development of thatexpertisewithin the team and cross-functionally
Interacts with senior level management
Create content forexecutive level presentations on critical supply chain issues, initiatives, and projects.
Participate in creatingfunctional/department goals
Drive systemrequirements, compliance, testing, andutilizationto meetthe needs of patients.
Support the development of potential agentic AI solutions for slot management by contributing to solution design, cross-functional discussions, and practical recommendations that help shape scalable and effective approaches.
Identifyand implement new processes and capabilities needed to supportCell and Gene Therapyprograms
Anticipate future industry trendsand keep abreast withastrongfoundationof knowledge of manufacturing, development, and supply
Minimal Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline preferred, or equivalent years of relevant experience
6+ years of Biotech, Pharmaceutical or medical device company related work experience
Ability to analyze straightforward problems and developpossible solutionsusing technical experience and judgment; may escalate unusual or complex problems
Ability to effectively balance customer expectations with internal/team expectations
Exhibits robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines
Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity
Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness
High level understanding of GMP processes and regulatory requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills to exchange relevant, and at times complex, information cross-functionally and ensuring understanding
Pay Range:
$133,600 - $200,400

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
