Job Description

Position Summary:
Performs production scheduling and planning functions for the facility. This entails daily finite scheduling, short term and long-term capacity planning and interactions with internal stakeholders in support of meeting production requirements. Acts as key liaison with all customers working collaboratively with customer planning teams to ensure facility meets attainment of customer demand requirements on an ongoing basis.
Skills and Requirements:
• Solid Communication Skills are critical: Scheduler will need to speak with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis building collaborative relationships to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
• Critical-Thinking Skills are key: Scheduler will need to devise plans of action and assess those plans regularly, making necessary adjustments to ensure Maker’s Pride objectives are met and customer demand is fulfilled in full and on time.
• Organizational Skills are a must: Ability to handle multiple competing priorities for multiple customers and ensure all company resources (equipment, people and materials) are utilized effectively by adjusting schedules accordingly to meet Maker’s Pride goals and objectives.
• Problem-Solving Skills required: Scheduler will need to be ready when problems arise, or be ready to anticipate problems before they happen, finding solutions to optimize achievement of Maker’s Pride goals and objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
• Create production orders in SAP ERP system and provide real-time feedback to facility Management Team on the plan as production executes schedule.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules for the plant.
• Leads weekly planning meeting with all internal stakeholder groups to review current plus 2 week production plans.
• Provides finite 13 week rolling schedule to the plant for material, equipment and labor planning.
• Maintains and distributes daily, weekly and month production reports for the plant Management Team with accurate entry of reason codes for not meeting attainment in internal and customer systems.
• Sets up and maintains the machine scheduling standards and line priorities by SKU.
• Sequences production orders on production lines/processes efficiently to maximize run time and effective utilization of equipment and labor.
• Monitors capacity levels and overtime requirements working with internal stakeholders to ensure resources are available to meet production plans.
• Will seek overtime approval before scheduling ensuring customer agrees to pay when applicable.
• Identify change-overs, tool changes and material changes required for each line and communicates it in SAP and through external scheduling tools to all internal stakeholders.
• Assesses capacity and ability to meet order deadlines for 5 production lines.
• Works collaboratively with Supply Chain Specialists to ensure material availability to meet short term and long-term production plans. Leads ongoing review of inventory levels and facilitates creation of aging material disposition plans.
• Communicates production plan to the shop floor daily by participating in daily production meetings.
• Analyzes customer demand and forecasts to create 13 weekly rolling master schedules for capacity planning, ordering of materials and labor planning.
• Leads the plant 13-week capacity planning meeting in accordance to the standard work.
• Works jointing with Quality Assurance and Maintenance on establishing run matrixes for sequencing SKUs on each production line and scheduling preventative maintenance activities.
• Reviews new sales opportunities on current asset base to validate capacity availability in collaboration with Corporate Capacity Planning Team.
• Leads weekly review of Product HOLD reports and facilities disposition of all items on HOLD log.
• Provides weekly production schedule to Logistics Coordinator to facilitate effective outbound shipment plans to all customers.
• Adherence to all site safety programs and practices is expected.
• All other duties as assigned by facility Management.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
• Some overtime may be required to meet business requirements and job expectations. Multi-shift production operations may be expansive, noisy and vary in temperature. Requirements for this position require the ability to access production and warehouse operations to execute hands-on execution of related activities. Frequent trips to shop floor may be required. All facility safety and GMP practices must be followed.
Education, Experience & Required Skills:
• Associate or undergraduate degree preferred in Supply Chain or Operations preferred and/or relevant work experience of at least 2-3 years in Planning and Production scheduling functions for a manufacturing organization.
• Progressive experience in food and/or packaging manufacturing industry preferred
• Prior experience with ERP systems is required
• Microsoft Excel at an intermediate or advanced level is required

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $58,962-$88,444/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
