Supply Chain Risk Manager

The Supply Chain Risk Manager is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive, proactive risk mitigation strategy within North American Manufacturing (NAM) and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) business units. This role involves identifying, assessing, and developing mitigation strategies working alongside internal and external stakeholders. The Supply Chain Risk Manager collaborates extensively across internal functions to enhance organizational resilience and sustain competitive advantage through robust risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a structured supply chain risk management (SCRM) framework aligned with enterprise risk management standards, defining governance, roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics.
  • Establish risk appetite and thresholds, ensuring consistent risk management practices across all business units.
  • Conduct risk assessments and scenario analyses, incorporating supplier networks, geopolitical factors, regulatory environments, threats, ESG risks, and logistics capacity.
  • Develop and implement data analytics and monitoring tools, including simulation and supply chain control towers, for early identification and proactive management of potential disruptions.
  • Oversee end-to-end supplier lifecycle management, including onboarding, qualification, performance tracking, and continuous development.
  • Collaborate with Global Commodity Managers to maintain and update an inventory of critical suppliers, focusing on strategic relationships to ensure continuity and resilience.
  • Enhance third-party risk management capabilities across a broader range of risk exposures.
  • Identify and execute strategies for supplier diversification to mitigate supplier concentration risks.
  • Monitor international trade developments, tariffs, and regulatory changes; develop strategies to manage and mitigate associated risks.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, finance, and compliance teams to optimize sourcing and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Lead capacity forecasting initiatives to address demand fluctuations, ensuring agility and adaptability of the supply chain.
  • Develop detailed contingency plans and clear response protocols for critical risk scenarios.
  • Implement a comprehensive capacity planning tool across the supply chain organization.
  • Foster strong partnerships with procurement, operations, legal, finance, compliance, information security, and data privacy teams to integrate risk management practices.
  • Coordinate closely with internal audit, global procurement compliance, risk management, and finance departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Provide senior leadership with actionable insights and reports derived from data-driven analytics to support informed decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in third-party risk management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, risk management principles, and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and supplier management software.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret supplier performance data and metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve supply chain issues promptly.
  • Experience in managing and influencing challenging stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret graphs; apply statistical techniques.
  • Reasoning ability: define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer skills: knowledge of database, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Greenbelt (SSGB) or Blackbelt (SSBB) recommended.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, talk, and hear; lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures including use of PPE (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection).
