Supply Chain Optimization Manager

Our portfolio centers around dairy and non-dairy nutritional ingredients. We co-innovate and deliver ingredient solutions and precision premixes for use in the mainstream food and beverage, infant and clinical, and functional nutrition markets. Job Summary

The role of the Supply Chain Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to agreed deadlines and within budget. This includes identifying and acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of employees (cross-functional teams) and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The supply chain manager will also define and get buy-in from key stakeholders regarding the project’s objectives. The result of the project/improvement must be sustainable, and efforts should be devoted to ensuring that the solutions remain in place. As required, the supply chain manager will support other teams and divisions.

Essential Functions

• Direct and manage projects from beginning to end - develop project plans.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the stakeholders.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders promptly and clearly.
• Liaise with project stakeholders continuously and continually manage project expectations with stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a keen ability to influence individuals up, down effectively, and across the business to gain buy-in and to drive results.
• Provide common problem-solving and analysis tools used in supply chain optimization
• Ensure all teams understand and drive to the root cause. Be involved with and lead troubleshooting and problem-solving exercises.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
• Where required, negotiate with other department managers to acquire required personnel from within the company.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, metrics, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
• Analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
• Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the project's success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of experience or equivalent years of experience in successfully managing complex programs, projects and/or processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in written form.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams of people through projects to successful completion.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
• Flexible during times of change.
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources

Travel Requirements

• Occasional overnight travel (up to 30%) by land and/or air.

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The annual salary for Illinois based employees for this role is $115,000 - $145,000 plus an annual bonus.
