The Tires Purchasing Area is looking for 1 team member, located in Lousado (Portugal).

This position is reporting directly and centrally to the Head of Inbound Supply Chain Management - Raw Material Purchasing (Hannover-Germany) and locally to the Head of Raw Materials HUB EMEA (Lousado-Portugal). The person is responsible for ensuring global raw material deliveries move efficiently from suppliers to Continental plants worldwide by optimizing performance, reducing costs, and maintaining high service levels. Target is to streamline supply chain processes to reduce lead times and eliminate bottlenecks, but also escalate disruptions in the right point in time to keep Conti tire plants running. This role is a leading self position and will be performed in Lousado, having a ratio of travelling time of around 20% per year.

Detailed activities includes:

  • Tracking and monitoring of shipments and providing updates to plants and other stakeholders;
  • Execute benchmarks for new or existing shipping lanes to support management decisions;
  • Report of KPIs related to shipping status and continuously improve these processes and tools;
  • Execute check and balance on long term base for container volumes on shipping lanes;
  • Support and ensure a proper Raw Materials Supplier On/Off Boarding to/from Conti Freight set up;
  • Coordinate Raw Materials supplier set up with freight forwarders during the onboarding process of suppliers;
  • Develop and conceptualize process improvements to optimize freight costs and improve efficiency in the supply chain operations;
  • Provide exceptional customer service by liaising with customers (plants), addressing their concerns, and ensuring their needs are met;
  • Cost and Invoice Management: Validating net rates and fees to accurately record the corresponding invoices and cost accruals
  • Built up and maintain a supply chain / freight data base for analytics
  • Ensure a timely preparation of all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and compliance paperwork by responsible parties.

Qualifications

  • University degree in the field of Supply Chain Management / Business Administration / Economics / Information Technology or comparable qualification
  • More than 3 years of work experience in Supply chain management or Logistics
  • Required knowledge in: Supply Chain / Logistics; Data & systems (RMDP, SAP, MPOP); Raw material purchasing processes; Risk management
  • International and intercultural experience is required
  • Fluent English in spoken and written (minimum B2 european level)
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills;
  • Ability to work independently and high self-motivation, teamwork and flexibility;
  • Willingness to travel.
