About this Opportunity:
The Supply Chain Manager – NPI is responsible for leading all supply chain activities associated with customer quoting, new product introductions, product transfers, and the successful launch of products into manufacturing. This individual serves as the primary supply chain lead for assigned NPI programs, partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Commercial, customers, and suppliers to ensure products are successfully transitioned into production.
The role combines strategic supplier management with tactical purchasing and production planning responsibilities. The successful candidate will own material readiness throughout the product lifecycle—from quotation and sourcing through qualification, production ramp, and ongoing manufacturing—while proactively managing supply chain risks, supplier performance, and material availability to meet customer and business objectives.
Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) & Program Leadership
- Lead all supply chain activities for assigned new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, and manufacturing launch projects
- Develop and execute supply chain plans that support project timelines from quotation through production release
- Serve as the primary supply chain representative on cross-functional NPI teams
- Drive material readiness to support prototype builds, engineering builds, qualification activities, pilot production, and production ramp
- Identify supply chain risks early and develop mitigation plans to support successful product launches
- Coordinate supply chain deliverables with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, Commercial, and Operations
- Support engineering changes, bill of material (BOM) updates, supplier transitions, and product lifecycle changes
- Participate in project reviews, launch readiness reviews, and customer meetings as required
Quoting & Commercial Support
- Partner with Commercial, Engineering, Program Management, and Finance to support customer quotations and new business opportunities
- Develop material cost estimates and supply chain assumptions used in customer quotations
- Solicit supplier quotations and evaluate pricing, lead times, tooling requirements, capacity, and supplier capabilities
- Recommend sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and make-versus-buy decisions
- Identify supply chain risks and opportunities during the quoting process
- Support quote updates resulting from engineering changes, supplier changes, or scope modifications
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Manage the procurement of components, raw materials, and outside services for assigned product families
- Issue purchase orders and manage supplier commitments to ensure on-time delivery
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that support quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and long-term business objectives
- Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in delivery, responsiveness, quality, lead time, and capacity
- Coordinate forecasts, schedule changes, engineering changes, and demand updates with suppliers
- Support supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and development activities
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing on supplier strategy, dual sourcing, cost reduction, and supply continuity initiatives
Production Planning & Material Management
- Develop and maintain production plans and material plans that support qualification builds, production ramp, and ongoing manufacturing
- Balance customer demand, inventory levels, supplier lead times, and manufacturing capacity
- Coordinate material availability with Manufacturing and Production Scheduling to ensure uninterrupted production
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively manage shortages, excess inventory, and supply constraints
- Closely monitor critical components from procurement through finished goods to ensure successful execution of NPI programs
- Ensure ERP planning parameters and planning data accurately support business requirements
Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into purchasing, planning, supplier performance, and material readiness

- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding program status, supply chain risks, mitigation plans, and overall project health
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen supply chain performance, planning processes, supplier performance, and NPI execution
- Improve supply chain processes, reporting, and systems to enhance visibility, scalability, and operational performance
- Support implementation of best practices across purchasing, planning, and supplier management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, production planning, materials management, or operations within a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting New Product Introductions (NPI), product launches, or manufacturing transfers
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning
- Strong understanding of purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, production planning, and material requirements planning
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% primarily to suppliers and/or customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting complex manufacturing launches or product transfer initiatives
- Experience with supplier development, strategic sourcing, and cost improvement initiatives
