We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead the logistics and materials flow supporting our manufacturing operations.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing and Production, this role is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain supporting manufacturing operations.The position holds accountability for:

  • Inward goods and container management
  • Inventory control and stock integrity
  • Glass operations and materials handling
  • Materials picking and dispatch
  • Transport scheduling and logistics delivery

You will oversee the safe and efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods across the Thermosash supply chain while ensuring product availability, dispatch accuracy, and reliable customer delivery outcomes.

The role also manages transport providers and 3PL partners, while driving continuous improvement across warehousing, dispatch, and delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and lead a strong safety culture across logistics operations
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
  • Maintain safe loading, handling, and transport practices
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and managed appropriately

Logistics & Supply Chain Operations

  • Manage inbound materials and warehouse logistics
  • Lead dispatch operations and delivery scheduling
  • Ensure accurate picking, packing, and shipment of materials
  • Coordinate transport providers and manage carrier performance

Biosecurity & Import Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with MPI and New Zealand Customs requirements
  • Manage container unloading procedures and documentation
  • Ensure containers are unpacked safely and at approved facilities

Customer Delivery & Network Coordination

  • Ensure deliveries meet project and customer timelines
  • Align logistics schedules with production and project plans
  • Coordinate with regional branches including Levin and Christchurch

Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide clear leadership and direction for logistics teams
  • Coach and develop team capability
  • Promote collaboration across logistics, manufacturing, and project teams

Commercial & Cost Management

  • Manage logistics budgets and cost forecasting
  • Monitor transport costs and delivery efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost-to-serve and route utilisation

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Improve logistics processes and operational performance
  • Utilise ERP, WMS, TMS and Power BI reporting tools
  • Develop operational dashboards and KPI reporting

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain management
  • Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
  • Experience managing 3PL providers and transport services
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business
  • Full New Zealand Class 1 driver’s licence
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand

Desirable

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or large-scale logistics environments
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean, and continuous improvement frameworks
