Job Description

A leading aerospace and advanced manufacturing organization has engaged us to recruit a Supply Chain Manager. Based out of a high growth Cincinnati hub that backs major commercial engine programs and a global client roster, the company is actively breaking into new markets spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. What sets this opportunity apart is the mandate itself: you are being brought in to design and grow a worldwide supply chain while the business is genuinely expanding, not to keep an existing structure running.

The ideal candidate is a practical, in the weeds leader ready to take command of global sourcing, raise the bar on supplier performance, and bring discipline and excellence to a sophisticated international supply chain.

Why this role

  • Worldwide footprint. Your remit spans an international supplier base, leaving plenty of latitude to shape results and to travel.
  • A blend of vision and execution. You will own the long range sourcing agenda while remaining close to the realities of daily operations.
  • Forward momentum. Far from static, the operation is actively modernizing, with sustained investment in better processes.
  • Decisions that count. Operating in a tightly regulated, high specification field, the calls you make ripple through quality, safety, and performance.
  • A voice that carries. Partnering side by side with Engineering, Quality, and Operations, your influence will be clearly felt.
  • Authentic ownership. The supplier strategy, the sourcing choices, and the process improvements are yours to drive, well beyond simply following instructions.

Your Responsibilities

  • Establish and grow supplier ecosystems supplying aerospace grade components and materials.
  • Shape and roll out global procurement strategies engineered to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Hold accountability for the entire procure to pay journey, from RFQs and supplier selection through to negotiations, purchase orders, delivery tracking, and invoice resolution.
  • Make certain that purchasing activity remains compliant with industry regulations and internal policy.
  • Advance the team's capability through hands on coaching, structured performance management, and forward looking succession planning.
  • Stay on top of supplier performance by applying metrics, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Move department KPIs in the right direction while feeding into the company's broader ambitions.
  • Join forces with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to clear supply roadblocks and protect production continuity.

Requirements

Essential

  • A demonstrable history of landing results in supplier negotiations, contract management, and relationship building.
  • Academic grounding to bachelor's level in supply chain, engineering, or an adjacent discipline.
  • The ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • No fewer than seven years operating in international supply chain roles within aerospace, defense, or a similarly regulated manufacturing space.
  • A working command of metal commodities alongside outside processing and treatment options.
  • A minimum of four years carrying leadership or management responsibility.
  • Deep familiarity with aerospace manufacturing methods, taking in machining, milling, fabrication, casting, and forging.
  • Direct exposure to sourcing intricate machined parts, specialized components, or advanced materials.
  • An openness to international travel whenever the role calls for it.
  • Sharp analytical, organizational, and communication capabilities.

Preferred

  • A recognized supply chain credential, whether CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP.
  • Postgraduate study to master's level in a connected field.
  • Prior success standing up or scaling supplier networks in unfamiliar regions or markets.
  • Practical ERP exposure, with Global Shop and/or Epicor especially welcome.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $125,000 to $140,000, based on experience, education, and qualifications.
  • Discretionary bonus of up to 20%.
  • A full insurance package covering medical, dental, vision, life, and supplemental cover, live from the first of the month after you join.
  • A 401(k) carrying a 5% employer match, open to you after three months.
  • Five days set aside for paid sick leave.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation, accrued, in line with this management tier.
  • A program that rewards employee referrals.
  • Support toward tuition costs.
  • Structured career development, including dedicated new manager and quality training tracks.
  • A measure of international travel tied to managing and growing the global supplier base.
  • Possible relocation support where the right candidate warrants it.
