Supply Chain Manager
Location: Singapore
Reports to: Managing Director, Singapore and functionally to Regional Operations Manager, APAC
Profile:
The local Supply Chain Manager is a key operational leader responsible for managing and continuously improving the end-to-end supply chain for IMCD Singapore, including demand planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, logistics, and 3PL coordination. The role ensures alignment with IMCD global policies while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and strong collaboration with local business teams and 3PL partners.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent understanding of Singapore’s logistics, warehousing, transportation, import/export, and 3PL market.
- Experience in demand planning, inventory management, stock replenishment, and working capital optimisation is preferred.
- Data analytics background with the ability to translate supply chain data into operational insights is preferred.
- Hands-on and proactive, with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Proficient in Microsoft tools and digital systems to support reporting, analysis, and process efficiency.
- Experience within the chemical distribution industry is considered a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements relevant to chemical distribution, including WSH, SCDF, NEA, GHS/SDS, and customs/import-export requirements, is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
General Supply Chain Management
- Own and manage the full scope of the local supply chain function.
- Oversee demand planning and inventory management activities to ensure stock availability, inventory accuracy, and alignment with business requirements.
- Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with the IMCD Global Supply Chain Policy, including all related guidelines and procedures.
- Prepare and submit an annual supply chain risk analysis and action plan to the Regional Operations Manager, APAC by January each year and ensure execution throughout the year.
- Ensure full adherence to IMCD’s Risk & Control framework across all supply chain activities.
Local Operations
- Oversee and continuously improve all logistics activities, including warehousing, transportation (road, air, and sea freight), and value-added services.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements related to warehousing, transportation, chemical storage and handling, and import/export activities.
- Manage product flows between principals, IMCD, customers, and intercompany entities.
- Ensure warehouse operations consistently meet business, quality, and safety standards.
- Document, maintain, and optimize all logistics processes.
- Act as key user for MRP and inventory management systems, ensuring optimal stock control.
- Lead demand planning and demand forecasting activities in close collaboration with Business Units, Customer Service, and Finance to support stock availability, replenishment planning and inventory optimization.
- Analyze shipping patterns (frequency, mode, destination, and cost) to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Support Business Units with logistics input for new projects and customer onboarding.
- Represent Supply Chain in local management meetings, providing insights on costs, performance, risks, and key developments.
Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Management
- Ensure all 3PL providers maintain required Singapore licenses, permits, and regulatory compliance.
- Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including regular performance reviews and audits.
- Lead annual rate negotiations in alignment with performance and business requirements.
- Monitor cost development and ensure transparency in 3PL-related expenditures.
- Develop and maintain contingency and business continuity plans for warehousing and transportation.
- Ensure alignment of all contractual changes and renewals with the Regional Operations Manager, APAC and Managing Director, Singapore, where required.
Digitalisation
- Manage freight rate data within JDE and approve new stock locations.
- Ensure accurate and timely NCR management in Salesforce.
- Oversee EDI interfaces with external logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of QBRs, contracts, and agreements in document management systems.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for:
- Internal Business Units regarding supply chain matters.
- External 3PL providers supporting the local entity.
- Intercompany supply chain coordination with other IMCD entities.
- Collaborate closely with logistics and support teams across Europe and Asia.
- Participate in the annual Regional Supply Chain Task Force.
- Maintain proactive and structured communication with the Regional Operations Manager, APAC.
Sustainable Procurement
- Lead local implementation of IMCD’s Sustainable Procurement Policy.
- Ensure all 3PL providers sign and adhere to ESG standards for business partners.
- Drive EcoVadis supplier assessments for downstream partners.
- Initiate and support CO₂ reduction and sustainability improvement initiatives.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead supply chain setup for new business opportunities and market entries for IMCD Singapore.
- Manage transitions and due diligence when changing 3PL providers.
- Identify, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across internal operations and external logistics networks.
