Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. Our team is looking for Supply Chain Manager to join our team at Chatsworth, CA. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for executing and leading the day-to-day procurement and Supply Chain activities at the site location for their respective workstream. Responsibilities include assigning workload and managing the buyers’ performance, selecting suppliers, negotiating supplier price and schedule, and measuring supplier OTD performance. This position will interface with the location’s senior management in Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, and HR in addition to Global Supply Chain. This position will report to the Site Head of Procurement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Timely management of Purchase Order releases to key suppliers in alignment to the business Procure To Pay process.
- Effective relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop essential skillset and capabilities that align to duties of a Buyer.
- Establish and execute key Purchase Order efficiency metrics.
- Responsible for invoice discrepancies and other grief events that could impact delivery or supplier payments.
- Commodity Management support (assists with executing global Commodity Strategies in the Electronics, Seals, Bearings, Machining and other category spend).
- Strong awareness of LTA/Supplier Agreement spend, ensuring close compliance to all terms and conditions.
- Timely escalation for delivery/commercial issues that could have material impact to the business.
Technical Capability
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with RFx processes, cost analysis, and contract management
- Understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Syteline, Visualetc.)
- Knowledge of A&D regulatory environment (ITAR/EAR) preferred
- Manage contract lifecycle activities including pricing updates, amendments, and compliance tracking.
- Ensure alignment with commercial terms, risk mitigation, and legal requirements.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of global commodity markets, including:
- Supply and demand dynamics
- Cost drivers (raw materials, labor, energy, etc.)
- Capacity constraints and supplier landscape
- Cost elasticity and pricing trends
- Provide regular market intelligence and risk insights to the Global Commodity Sr. Manager and stakeholders.
- Support development and refinement of commodity strategies.
- Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.
- Support supplier business reviews (SBRs) and performance improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality and site teams to resolve performance issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within manufacturing (Aerospace & Defense preferred)
- Strong analytical and cost modeling capabilities
- Experience managing RFx processes and supplier negotiations
- Solid understanding of contract management principles
- Knowledge of global supply markets and commodity dynamics
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Effective communication skills in a global, matrixed environment

Compensation Pay Range
$100k-$140k
