Job Description

Position Summary

The SCM Analyst is responsible for supporting plant supply chain operations through data analysis, reporting, process management, and proactive communication of production and logistics impacts. This role develops, deploys, maintains, and continuously improves shipment and production delay notification processes to ensure timely communication with internal stakeholders, customer service teams, logistics providers, and manufacturing leadership.

The SCM Analyst serves as a key link between Production Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams, providing actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Shipment & Production Delay Management

  • Develop and maintain shipment and production delay notification processes.
  • Monitor manufacturing schedules, inventory availability, transportation status, and customer commitments to identify potential delivery risks.
  • Analyze production and logistics disruptions and determine customer and business impacts.
  • Deploy delay notifications to appropriate stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage escalation processes for critical customer orders, plant disruptions, and transportation issues.
  • Track and report notification effectiveness, response times, and resolution status.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of delay communication across all affected functions.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain supply chain performance dashboards and reports.
  • Analyze key metrics including:
  • Create executive-level summaries and operational performance reports.
  • Identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement through data analysis.
  • Support business reviews with data-driven recommendations.

Supply Chain Planning Support

  • Partner with Production Planning and Logistics teams to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Support production scheduling and material flow analysis.
  • Assist in evaluating production constraints and capacity impacts.
  • Participate in daily operations reviews and supply chain performance meetings.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve visibility of material and shipment status.

Process Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement standardized delay communication workflows.
  • Develop automation solutions using reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Lead initiatives to improve visibility, responsiveness, and supply chain execution.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on service, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain data integrity across ERP, planning, and reporting systems.
  • Support development and enhancement of plant supply chain tools and dashboards.
  • Utilize Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and other analytics platforms to deliver operational insights.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on system enhancements and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, production planning, manufacturing operations, or business analytics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing or plant operations.
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics processes.
  • Understanding of production planning and inventory management principles.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • APICS/ASCM certification or equivalent supply chain certification.
