POSITION TITLE: Supply Chain Leader, Rathdrum & Tallaght

MAJOR PURPOSE:
Manage and directly support specific Supply Chain and Materials Management functions related to the Rathdrum & Tallaght Operations and the Principal Company objectives, policies, and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Key objectives of this position include:
1. Support for long-range site master planning related to capacity and volume projections.
2. Develop short to mid-range capacity models for resource and materials planning.
3. Responsible for production planning, MRP & inventory control for Rathdrum & Tallaght operations.
4. Produce timely and regular production plans for the manufacturing sites, driven by API demand planning, sales forecasts and export orders using the MRP system.
5. Ensure production plans are aligned and integrated across all site functions, using MRP and SAP PP/DS updates to maintain a feasible and executable schedule.
6. Assist in the development of strategies to alleviate capacity constraints or underutilization.
7. Provide direction to the Local and Global teams to provide material timely, economically and within specifications.
8. Communicate with Global and Local Procurement groups the 6 to 12-month volumes and demands to assure alignment of procured materials requirements to support site operations.
9. Ensure all levels of product and materials inventories are planned, scheduled and maintained at levelsconsistent with policies and guidelines as well as Supply Chain Agreements with individual markets.
10. Ensure Material Management ERP / MRP systems are maintained and aligned with Principal Company guidelines, Rathdrum & Tallaght Operations, Logistics and Manufacturing efficiency objectives, and Quality / Regulatory requirements.
11. Provide support as needed to all manufacturing departments and Process Teams in utilizing ERP / MRP systems efficiently and effectively.
12. Plan and Schedule the efficient management of incoming material warehousing activities:
• Material Receiving Activities
• Material Quality Inspections and Sampling Activities
13. Responsible for the Import Entry process and record keeping requirements thereof from foreign export sites to Irish manufacturing sites.
14. Supports government communications to ensure speedy entry release from all government agencies.
15. Liaison with Operations Logistics to ensure inland carriers are secured for prompt freight pick-up and delivery.
16. Monitoring daily inbound and outbound shipments and send import instructions to Brokers
17. Plan and Schedule Material Stock Transfers Request to assure material availability to achieve production plans
18. Warehousing to Manufacturing Operations including:
• Ensuring optimized production planning to mitigate constraints
• Support Material Inventories Reporting & Compliance Requirements
• On hand and Projected Inventories • Obsolescence / Distressed Inventory
• Cycle Counts
19. Responsible for liaising with artwork changes, ensuring that BOMs are up-to-date and introducing new packaging in a compliant, timely and cost-effective manner.
20. Lead or participate in strategic initiatives, continuous improvement projects and activities to enhance compliance, productivity and/or costs.
21. Ensure that Health & Safety is given high priority within the area and that all activities are risk assessed and carried out in a safe manner.
22. Ensure cGMP compliance at all times and that inventory-related deviations are investigated, documented, reported, and closed in line with site procedures.
23. Support Manufacturing Technical Services, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Demand Management to ensure new product introductions are efficient and support the business goals.
24. SAP Business Owner, liaising with relevant business owners re the introduction / upgrades of SAP MRP Master Data principles and BOM understanding.
25. Management of process waste storage and removal from site including logistics and controls.
SYSTEM OWNER / SUBSYSTEM OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Systems
System Owner (SO)
System Owners have overall accountability for the site Quality Systems for which they are responsible and in particular for:
• Providing strategic & proactive direction with respect to the System (across the site) in terms of content and execution.
• Providing support, guidance & coaching to Sub System Owners (SSO).
• Ensuring that SSO regularly review sub-systems for their effectiveness, escalating issues where required to site Quality Council (QRC) for action & remediation.
• Owning relevant System issues in the site Compliance Plan.
• Defining resources as needed & communicating resource needs to Site Lead.
• Applying people change control across Sub-Systems within their responsibility.
• Ensuring that SSO have proactive continuous improvement plans for their Sub Systems.
Sub System Owner (SSO)
Sub-System Owners have overall accountability for the site Quality Sub-Systems for which they are responsible and in particular for:
• Providing strategic & proactive direction with respect to their Sub-System (across the site) in terms of content and execution.
• Regularly reviewing their Sub-System & presenting Sub-System review to Quality Council (QRC) as required. Escalating issues where required to the System Owner (SO) and site QRC for action and remediation.
• Owning relevant Sub-System issues in the site Compliance Plan.
• Defining resources as needed & communicating resource needs to SO.
• Developing & implementing proactive continuous improvement plans for their sub system.
• In partnership with the SO, ensuring that there are clearly defined expert(s) for each sub-system, acting as a point of contact during inspections.
• Overseeing all documents associated with their sub-system and providing input to the document owners during updates.
• Providing comments on new/revised draft policies and guidelines and completing impact assessments where required.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
• Reports directly to the Site Lead, Rathdrum & Tallaght
• Strong working relationship with the Platform lead, Site Leadership Teams, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, Quality, EHS, GMT and all functions that affect the supply base as well as supporting Global platforms.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Science, or similar (or equivalent experience).
• 8–12+ years progressive supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally regulated).
• Strong track record in production planning / MRP, inventory management, and materials coordination.
• A good understanding of the manufacturing environment / experience of working closely with and in manufacturing sites
• Solid analytical capability and comfortable with KPIs, forecasting, capacity and inventory modelling.
• An understanding of GMP and the Quality standards required in a pharmaceuticals business.
• Experience in working with cross functional teams to achieve site goals.
• Experience in understanding and implementing strategic business requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency to operate effectively in a matrix organization and to influence colleagues outside of direct reporting relationship.
• Prior experience in supply chain transformation including the integration of ERP / MRP upgrades, integrated business planning and digitalization of production planning and scheduling is a significant advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Supply chain & planning expertise: Strong understanding of production planning, materials management, inventory control, and end-to-end supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Systems & data fluency: Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability to interpret data, quantify opportunities, and drive cost/service improvements. SAP S/4HANA, SAP PP/DS (PPDS) and SAP IBP experience preferred (or equivalent ERP/APS planning tools).
• Execution & prioritization: Demonstrated ability to set clear objectives, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver results to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Project / change leadership: Proven ability to lead improvement initiatives and implement process or system changes with stakeholders across functions and sites.
• Stakeholder management: Strong interpersonal skills with clear, concise written and verbal communication; able to influence and drive alignment through others in a matrix organization.
• Negotiation & supplier interface: Confident negotiator with experience managing trade-offs (service, cost, inventory, lead times) with internal and external partners.
• Problem-solving & decision making: Structured problem-solver who applies experience and data to resolve complex issues; comfortable making decisions with cross-functional impact.
• Strategic mindset: Able to translate business strategy into practical plans and contribute to site/network strategic direction.
• People leadership & capability building: Creates a collaborative team environment, coaches others, and builds organizational capability and knowledge sharing.
• Personal effectiveness: Self-driven, resilient, and accountable, with a continuous improvement mindset.
PHYSICAL POSITION
• Role is based at Rathdrum but must have the ability to work routinely across Rathdrum and Tallaght sites.
• Weekly attendance at both sites will be a requirement of this role.
