Wood has an opportunity for a Supply Chain Lead in Malaysia to support bid development and project execution by delivering effective, timely and compliant supply chain management services.
The role will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Procurement and Construction teams to ensure supply chain activities are strategically planned, executed and monitored in line with contractual requirements, client expectations and Wood policies, procedures and systems.
The Supply Chain Lead will act as the focal point for all procurement and subcontracting activities across defined project scopes and will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, while leading, mentoring and developing supply chain personnel where required.

The Supply Chain Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of all supply chain activities across the full project lifecycle, including bid and execution phases.
You will:
- Lead and manage all procurement and subcontracting activities, including sourcing, negotiation, expediting and reporting, ensuring alignment with project execution plans and schedules
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned to client head contract requirements, project objectives and Wood commercial frameworks
- Monitor, control and report procurement and subcontract progress, including risks, delays and critical issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution
- Establish and manage procurement and subcontract status reports (PSR), ensuring accurate tracking of commitments, delivery milestones and supplier performance
- Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with engineering, planning and construction deliverables
- Manage supplier and subcontractor lifecycle including prequalification, evaluation, negotiation, performance management and relationship development
- Lead, mentor and develop supply chain personnel, ensuring clear roles, workload prioritisation and high performance delivery in line with project and business objectives
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong supply chain leadership capability supported by relevant project experience. This will include:
- Bachelor’s degree (ISCED Level 6) in a relevant business or technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience; CIPS or equivalent qualification preferred
- Typically a minimum of 10 years’ procurement and subcontracting experience, with progression to a lead role within EPC/EPCM environments
- Strong knowledge of procurement and subcontracting principles, contract types, commercial terms and conditions, and supplier management practices
- Experience in complex commercial evaluations, negotiations and development of robust contractual agreements
- Sound understanding of project supply chain processes, reporting systems, logistics and materials management within multidisciplinary environments
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal functions
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills, with a proactive mindset and focus on continuous improvement
